Conductor and Musical Director - Paul White

Paul White, conductorPaul has been our musical director since 1984, and is Director of Music for the Stamford Endowed Schools. He is an honours music graduate of Oxford University, and has an educational research degree from Cambridge. He has been involved in music education for many years, with such positions as executive officer on the Music Education Council, and subject chair for an Advanced Level examinations board.

President - Colin Dexter OBE

Although known principally as a novelist, and creator of Inspector Morse, Colin Dexter is a lover of music – just like his fictional creation. Colin was brought up in Stamford, and attended Stamford School. He follows those two giants of the English musical scene, Sir Malcolm Sargent and Sir Michael Tippett, as president of the Society.

Chairman - David Lovell Brown

David Lovell-Brown, ChairmanDavid Lovell Brown is actively involved with the Stamford Choral Society as chairman and occasional accompanist. He joined the music staff of Stamford School in 1972 and is recognised as an extremely accomplished organist. While still at school, he held two organist positions and went on to study music at Edinburgh University, where he won the Hollins Organ Scholarship.

Accompanist - Anne Llowarch

Anne Llowarch has been piano accompanist of the Stamford Choral Society since 1986. She was a member of the music staff at Stamford School from 1976, a Graduate and prizewinner of the Guildhall School of Music, she hods diplomas in piano (AGSM, ARCM) singing (LRAM) and organ (ARCO).
